Vote 756

The bidding war for home run number 756 is over, now what to do with it is in the fans hands. Marc Ecko the clothing designer, bid $750,000 well above most estimates, to get the ball. Ecko decided that this ball is historic and that the fans of baseball should decide what to do with it, so he set up a voting website Vote756.com. Fans can chose a) to send the ball to the Hall of Fame as is, b) send the ball to the HOF with and asterisk branded onto it, or c)blow the ball up. Barry Bonds has said that he doesn't want the ball and doesn't care what happens to it. Does Marc Ecko really have the right to do this? Regardless of how you feel about Bonds, this baseball is historic and it deserves to be preserved. Baseball doesn't erase records, Pete Rose is still the all time hits leader and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson's name is still in the record books too. If Bonds cheated than he cheated, simple as that. If he didn't, than he didn't. Either way Bonds broke the record and history, and this ball needs to be preserved whether he cheated or not. It is a part of the games history and it should be on display for years to come. How do you feel about this? Do you think Marc Ecko is right to do what he's doing? Is this ball really property of the fans? Should Marc Ecko destroy or disfigure this piece of history? How will you vote?
