Where are the picket lines for violence against women and children?
Picket signs, proposed boycotts, using Mike Vick number 7 jerseys to clean out dog kennel stalls. These were just some of the things that occurred during the Vick saga that now know all too much about. But when a woman or child is hit, where are there picket signs, where are there boycotts? In fact there are more dog shelters in the United States than there are women's shelters. The FBI got involved when it realized a star athlete was abusing dogs, but where were they when Phillies pitcher Brett Myers dragged his wife down a street and beat her in public? A dog is a wonderful creature, there is a reason for them being called man's best friend, but don't women and children deserve picket lines too? Is America so obsessed with dogs that the people we love take a back seat because animal lovers are more vocal? If PETA got this upset over dogs being abused, everyone should be in complete uproar when a woman or child is hit, but how come they are not?
